As violence rages across our televisions this summer the one thing every viewer can be certain of, irrespective of their political affiliation, is that this mayhem is happening.

Americans are watching the ravaging of major portions of the nation’s most populous cities on their favorite flat screen devices in real time. “Real” being the operative word.

What we are watching is the destruction of major American cities at the hands of anarchists. This destruction is happening and the evidence proving the carnage is irrefutable.

Citizens in these cities can see the burned out, looted businesses, and smell the acrid smoke from police vehicles set ablaze. Hospital admitting records confirm that injuries sustained by police officers are both real and painful. Thousands of hours of news footage of these riots exist so no one can claim that it isn’t happening.

That was until New York’s 10th US District Representative Jerry Nadler came out Sunday with a shocking and unsettling perspective on the situation roiling our country. The congressman called the violent Portland riots ongoing for more than fifty days “a myth” on Sunday.

Queried by reporter Austen Fleccas who asked if he disavowed “the violence from Antifa that’s happening in Portland,” the rotund lawmaker said the reports were a myth “that’s being spread only in Washington, DC.”
